Palomita Pen Pal Privacy & Participation Policy

Privacy & Participation Policy

Little letters. New friendships. Lots of care.

Palomita Pen Pals is a parent-managed letter exchange designed to help children connect through creativity, kindness, and good old-fashioned mail.

We believe making a new friend should feel exciting for kids and reassuring for grown-ups. Here's how it works.

01 / GROWN-UPS FIRST

A parent or legal guardian must register their child for the Pen Pal program and provide any required consent before participation begins.

Participation is optional, even when a Pen Pal Kit is included in a Palomita Book Club box.

02 / MAKING A MATCH

Palomita uses limited information, such as a child's first name, age, and optional interests, to help find an appropriate pen pal.

We do not ask children to register themselves.

03 / GOOD MAIL, SAFELY SENT

All letters are mailed through Palomita. Families send their letters to our designated P.O. Box, and Palomita forwards them to their matched pen pals.

We do not share children's home addresses with other participating families.

Parents or guardians are responsible for reviewing their child's letters before mailing. Letters should not include home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, school names, social media accounts, or other identifying details.

Palomita may review letters for safety and may decline to forward material that contains personal contact information or inappropriate content.

04 / KEEPING INFORMATION PRIVATE

We collect only the information reasonably necessary to administer the program, communicate with parents, arrange matches, and forward letters.

This may include a parent's contact and mailing information and limited information about the participating child.

We do not sell children's personal information or use it for advertising.

Information is accessible only to those who need it to operate the program and to service providers necessary for its operation, subject to appropriate protections.

05 / KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING

Pen Pal Studio is designed for ongoing correspondence. Once matched, children can continue exchanging letters through Palomita for as long as both families wish to participate.

There is no required number of letters or set schedule for replying. Every friendship moves at its own pace.

Parents may pause or end participation at any time by emailing hello@palomitaworld.com. While we'll do our best to make thoughtful matches, we cannot guarantee a reply or a particular length of correspondence.

06 / PARENT PARTICIPATION

Palomita Pen Pals is a parent-managed letter exchange for children ages 5–8.

A parent or legal guardian must review and approve every letter before mailing it to Palomita and review all incoming correspondence before sharing it with their child.

Letters should not include home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, school names, social media accounts, or other identifying information.

Palomita coordinates matching and forwarding. Families' mailing addresses are not shared with pen pals.

Parents may pause or end participation at any time by contacting hello@palomitaworld.com.

07 / YOU'RE IN CHARGE

Parents can contact Palomita to ask about their child's participation, review information held for the program, request corrections, withdraw permission, or request deletion, subject to applicable legal obligations.

Email us at hello@palomitaworld.com.

08 / QUESTIONS? SAY HELLO.

We want Pen Pal Studio to be a thoughtful, creative, and welcoming experience for every family.
